APWT Stationery Blog's 'How To' Series - Learn how to use our APWT Printable Card Making Kit

Welcome to the third installment in our APWT Stationery Blog's 'How To' series. In this post we will show you how to use our APWT Printable Card Making Kit.

Step 1: Purchase and Download
Purchase item from our shop, when your payment is processed Etsy will send you an e-mail with a link to your card making files to download. If you have an Etsy account, you can also find the files to download in your order history after your payment is processed.

The APWT Printable Card Making Kit comes with (5) files:

1) Folded Card - 5 x 7 inches

2) Postcard/Flat Card - 5 x 7 inches

3) Blank Folded Card Inside File - Only download if you want to add typed text to your folded card. You can download and add text in preview mode, or upload to a design program to customize.

4) Traditional Postcard Back - 5 x 7 inches

5) Blank Flat Card Back - Only download if you want to add typed text to your flat card. You can download and add text in preview mode, or upload to a design program to customize.

Download files to your computer.

Step 2: Open and Print
All files are saved in a PNG file format. The file will open just like any image file (i.e  JPEG or PDF), but will provide a better quality image for image printing.

Use a color printer to print out your card files (unless otherwise stated in listing). You can print both the folded card and postcard on a 8.5 x 11 inch sheet of paper or card stock. Print (1) per sheet. If you can't print the files yourself, upload the files to an online printing platform or take the file to your local print shop to print.

The Blank Flat Card Back and Folded Card Inside files have been provided as a template if you decide you want to add typed text to your card. They are sized to fit the back of your postcard, and the inside of your folded card. Depending on the computer, you may be able to add text just in preview mode on your computer, or you can upload to design or notes program to add text. Before you've added your text, make sure to 'save as' the file with your project name so you can reuse the original blank templates for other cards.

If you are using any of the back or inside files, do a trial run before final printing to learn image alignment. You will be printing on both sides of the same paper, you want to make sure both back and front are facing in the right direction.

As with all of our designs, we've provided you with the image, but you can customize your cards by experimenting with paper weight, texture, and finishes, or just print out on plain white paper or card stock.

Step 3: Cut
You can cut your cards out with scissors, or if you have a paper cutter you can use that as well.

Step 4: Personalize
The cards are blank on the inside, so you can personalize by adding stickers, markers, crayons, stamping, or just plain text, make it your own.

Step 5: Send or Give it to someone you like
You've downloaded, printed, cut, personalized, and now you're ready to brighten someone's day with a fun card that you've made yourself (with a little help:0).

Our Printable Card Making Kits are great for personal projects, or you can turn them into an activity with a class, friends, or family.
